Despite trade increasing two times between the United Kingdom (UK) and Israeli during the last four years, Daniel Taub, the Israeli ambasador to the UK, is resigning in the summer of 2015
This is according to an announcement made by the Israel embassy in the United Kingdom.
A statement released by the UK Israeli embassy says that that the last four years has been marked by UK-Israeli trade doubling and the academic, business and cultural links growing between the two nation.
According to the British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Saijid Javid, this is the golden arta of trade between the UK and Israel. The Israel-Britain Chamger of Commerce backs him up by saying that the trade is over 5.5 billion US dollars, new high in trade between the two countries. Javid contradicted them by saying that the trade is more like 7 billion US dollars.
During his tenure, Taub did try to strengthen trade and technical links. Working with Google, he introduced the UK to the Bizcamp start-up competition. He was rewarded encouraging trade and business links by being of the nominees for the Grassroot Diplomat Initiative Award that focuses on developing trade and trade.
Taub was born in the UK and became the Israeli ambassador to the UK in 2011. He did once traveled to Northern Ireland with a Palestinian diplomat to learn from the peaceful situation and apply it the Palestinian-Israel situation.
In 2012, Taub told the Jewish Chronicle that he was worried about the atmosphere othe UK college campuses, concerning how they feel about Israel. Many years later, UK’s largest student union did boycott Israel.
At this time, the person who will succeed him as the Israeli ambassador is unknown.
Taub was not just born in the UK. He was educated in this country as well. He went to the secondary school called the Habarshers Aske’s School in the UK town of Hertfordshire. He then attended college at University College. It is no wonder he was a good ambassador to the UK as he was educated in UK and knew the country pretty well.
He did ultimately finish his college education at Harvard University in the United States. Learn more: http://www.hampsteadshul.org.uk/event/isaiah-berlin-lecture-2017-daniel-taub/
